Can I showcase a logo that the client DIDN'T choose?

hi all,

I designed a few variations of a logo, the client having picked this one:

I sort of like this other version better though:

My question is, is it ethical to use a different logo in my portfolio than the one that the client is using?

Thanks.

By all means put it in your portfolio, just don't list it as the approved logo.

Include it as an option you felt was stronger, and give your rationale.

The blue one is really nice, the client is an idiot for picking the first.

The clients are friends of mine, don't bash them. They're entitled to their opinions.

sure you can, just be sure to label it as a concept and say the client went with a different direction for the final result.

Anyway, I added it to my portfolio, and just listed it as a prototype logo.

Thanks for the feedback guys
