Saw this yesterday. Not impressed.
Why have they displayed the gallery thumbnails as greyscales?
The whole site just looks grim.

aye, agree with sub. like subtraction without the style or thought.

the colour from the thumbs would've helped.

Wow, that is incredibly depressing. Would be so much nicer if the screenshots weren't greyscaled.

Seriously, the thumbnails just blend into the background now, theres no punch...

if they were coloured it would actually do the showcased site some justice...... t

i do like it ... but ... the thumbs should be a slight tint - (maybe the same blue as at the top and bottom) - needs a small bit of emphasis colour.

For a showcase site, why are they molesting other peoples designs by presenting them like this ???

Here's an e-mail i sent to them:

Quote:
Hey there,

I love your new redesign, but I think you're really hurting the showcased designs by presenting them in gray scale.

From a usability standpoint, a user doesn't want to roll over every thumbnail to see the showcased site in its TRUE colourful glory.

I understand that you're going for a whole grayscale thing, but
the pretty, beautiful CSS sites that you list are NOT designed in grayscale, and you are impacting the designer's .... design... negatively by presenting them in this fashion.

PLEASE make all your thumbnails in colour, and if you really wanted to, you could reverse it and make the rollover state grayscale....

Cheers

It is interesting, sites that does not have a good design them self "JUDGES" for others designs.
This is a PARADOX ...
You see such gallery, better don't submit ...
