Was just curious what the Speak Up logo was doing there, that's all.

Its there beacause I wanted to reserve that space on my design for sponsors or affiliates.

Its just a mockup so I just dropped that in because I like their logo not because Im alluding my design to their success. I will probably replace it with a made-up one when Im done.

You hang about on subtraction and aisle one don't you, think Ive seen ur comments a few times?

Yep, that's me. I love Aisle One and Subtraction. Great blogs aren't they?

Also, I didn't mean to come off as rude about your design, hope it's all good.

Yeah I too frequent those blogs as often as I can, aisle one is great for inspiration and I love khoi's writing on design and his passion for the subject.

And no worries, its just that I would have liked to have known your comments on the design itself rather than the intentions behind it

Here are my thoughts on the design:

I think there needs to be some typographic diversity. Courier can be a strain on the eyes, especially when the text runs long (like on a blog). One major thing I notice is a problem with spacing (margins and padding, in particular). Notice up top, where it says "Drop us a line" right next to the description of the blog, they don't vertically align. Neither does the blog post data with the actual content of the post. Also, I think you could work on the underlying grid, because as it is now, it doesn't look completely thought out.

As for general issues, I think you should work on the kerning for the logo and also work out any leading issues throughout the design.

Agree with the sidebar on the right, highly. Also agree with a light gray for sidebar, very light, but maybe with a hint of beige, rather than just gray. Somewhere around #ecebe5.

I like the first one better layout wise. I think a little color would definitely go a long way.

i love the logo .

I think you can use grey on the menú area, or any other neutral color, You must to think when the top image changes, maybe it isn't works good as now.

I think you should put some text on bold, italic...

It looks like a tweaked version of a CV we done a while ago, http://www.spearbox.com/support_file..._1_of_2_cv.png
