Can't comment on code. code isn't my bag. plenty to say on the design and layout. I generally automatically dislike sites without a consistent navigation. If you are going atypical a lot of thought needs to go into how the user finds their way through the site intuitively. There's an extra nav at the bottom.. there as if to acknowledge the site is difficult to get around. The distorted & in the logo is likky poo. 1 for being distorted 2 for being difficult to make out. One of the links goes through to a different (slightly smarter looking) site with the same name... which is reeet confusing. I would sort the fuddle with who's what and where, either by renaming or properly combining the two offerings. There's what look like some holiday snaps in the portfolio.. ? anti social marketing

I like the colours and general concept of the site. I think image-based text for content should be avoided ... you can achieve you nav goals with some very simple CSS and markup. You'd gain points in accessilibity, font-resizing, same content for alternate media (e.g., print, mobile), etc. For your section navs I'd suggest putting a label inline with the icons as opposed to a tooltip hover. Not only would this address the points above but it would also stop me from searching for what i want with my mouse rather than my eyes. You definitely don't want to make it difficult for your clients to hire you hth |

I posted my site on this forum again as i’ve changed the navigation and the portfolio page and wanted to hear peoples comments about the changes I agree that the image based text is pixelated on the home page and will be changing this when i get a chance. Any other comments welcomed xxx |

The basic concept of deep purple and black - with an orange flower on top is really not doing anything for me. The horizontally resizing grey container box is odd, why bother with it if you are going to leave a big white gap under it? The '&' in the logo is truly horrible. I wouldn't dare offer a rebranding service when your own logo is this flawed. unconsolidated isoparms

I not sure exactly what you've changed but I'm still not in love with the iconography, but something tells me this isn't up for being dropped. The main problem is that the navigation is that it is inconsistant, you need to pick one place for it and stick with that. And placing your navigation in the footer is not the best idea either, as footer navs are generally for secondary navigation AND using standard text links combined with the titles of your links suggests google ads rather than a core navigation PLUS it's more likely to disappear below the fold. The code doesn't validate but be it could easily, so do it. The speed of the flash should be sped up, slow tweens are rarely good. I don't like the grey background color at all, but if you're going to keep it at least make it run full screen by attaching it to the body. |

It's all a bit confusing and a poor use of space. IE. For the amount of info you've got on there, why am I scrolling every page? Keep it all on one page. Why not make the navigation horizontal. Have a look at this Our New Website - oceanseventy Get a feel for the simplicity and layout. |

Personally, I don't really like your site. I agree with the vast majority of what has already been said. Your navigation is difficult to use and overly complicated, not to mention kinda ugly. Your logo needs alot of work and, rather oddly, your site looks and feels cramped yet I'm still forced to scroll to see everything on the page. You should work on your layout a little. I agree with Do Gooder that the fact that one of the links goes to a totally different site is a bit confusing. Also the site that it leads to doesn't scroll properly; although that could just be me. On this page aswell, I found a grammatical error: "His services to dental education was recently recognised" Fix this please. It also wouldn't hurt to work on your typography a bit and how come you have annoying moving images on your homepage? They don't add to it at all. I'd take them out. Anyways, the site's not perfect but keep at it. |

I'm normally big on C&C but I can't think of where to start. Honest opinion? Start again, from scratch on everything. Have a good long rethink, about the design, about the navigation about the legibility, er everything - look at your competitors sites out there do some research and see where you're aiming compared to others. |
