[Review Request] Sports Retailer Website
Part of my new full-time job with a Sporting Goods company entails maintaining and updating their website. The current website was built in ASP by my predecessor and the bloated code, in tandem with in my opinion a dated design, has led me to the conclusion that I should tear it down and rebuild from scratch. I'm looking at porting the database from Access into MySQL, and rewriting the new site in PHP. However what I wanted to get was some feedback on any obvious shortcomings existing in the current design so I've got some direction to start with. The website is accessible at struddys.com.au. Edit: I particularly want to implement e-commerce down the line and am set to do this, however I'd rather bring the main website up to date with a new style first. i.e. get traffic to the site before I focus on online purchasing. Regards, Isaac |

I would suggest going with a less modular look. The old design looks like one of those horrid php-nuke sites of old with all the similarly styled modules. I would suggest creating a nice design that focuses on the company and some product highlights instead of just a fully immersive e-commerce front end, as its current set up. then have the sub-pages focus on the e-commerce side. |
