feels a bit like wandering around a ghost town.

A pseudo-minimalistic ghost town that takes ages to load because the thumbnails aren't thumbnails.

edit:

a bit of advice:
try to make the occasional visitor not feel alone on your site. Start small, with few categories. Expand when it gets too crowded.

All the community sites use to have logins in the top right and now they have them on the left, I always keep on going "where's the login." Although it does make more sense on the left, i just can't adjust =(
