~The navigation in the middle, the text is too dark. ~Increase your line-height. ~Fix the Rotary Image on your portfolio or don't put it there. ~When you click on the thumbnail photos you should have a larger version appear. ~your "back to portfolio" link doesn't work in Firefox. ~Remove "This website is best viewed on a 1280 x 1024 screen setting" this was popular back when 800x600 was still a big issue but now 95% of people are using 1024x768 and bigger. That's all I can tell about the functionality... As for the design, it's very basic and bland check out: Design Meltdown for some inspiration. Since you're a beginner, it may also help to go look at some templates, don't use them but you can probably get some good ideas about how to design and layout your site. Hope this helps! |

Ugh wow weird thread... Anyways not sure if anyone else suggested this, don't have time to read all the replies. Add: body {margin:0; padding:0;} to your css. The way you added the background to the content area is very inefficient. and the flower below the header doesn't look right getting chopped in half like that. Header could use more content. Navigation is somewhat annoying to use. And footer links move a pixel or 2 when you hover over them. Not sure if this is intended but it is quite annoying. |

Ah give it a rest, she has a point about various people on here - it's a designers forum - surely when someone requests a critique about a design then they should GET a critique instead of wisecracks, or is it just a case of ignorant people having nothing better to do? There are a million other forums like that, and people on here go on and on about people who should be banned ... maybe those who should be banned are the ones taking the mick out of serious people all the time, so that this forum can actually become a decent resource. Hey woodss thanks for your comment i completely agree with you. I think there are too many ignorant people on here with nothing better to do, hopefully they will get a life one day.. Or get banned!! Emil has written quite a few comments on my post .. not one of them has been constructive critique .. they must have a very small meaningless life to bother writing the crap that they do!! anyway thanks for the advice you gave me in the past and thanks for sticking up for me .. at least i know there's another decent human being who uses this forum. take care xxx |

Hi hunch No you’ve got me wrong .. I listen to constructive critique not all the other crap i’ve been getting on this forum .. the people on the other forums give good advice, so when they say my site looks good i tend to believe them instead of listening to people on here who are full of crap!! |

If a doctor tells you that you have a large brain tumour, but 5 of your friends tell you you're fine, who would you listen to? The expert, or the ones telling you what you want to hear? I'd be interested in seeing some of these 'other people's work. |

ROFL there's no experts on this forum .. i've seen plenty of websites on here and don't think much to any of them .. i have seen some good sites on the other forums though so would much rather listen to the experts on there not the children on here!! |
