site redesign

Well, I have redesigned once again my website. This time with an entirely new approach. Let me know what you think:

honestly? it looks sort of amateur. I'd suggest making your header area smaller or take up less space to better emphasize the work. I like the link font and the color variation, but the text of your name needs to be redone; the way it's saved as a transparency isn't working for it right now; some of the edges are pixelated/choppy.

Also, I'd work on the consistancy of the page. When I clicked the different links, the header moved around; it should always be in the same place to make it more fluid and professional.

I think you've got the right idea; just needs to be polished up.

Best of luck, hope this has been helpful.

What about it makes it look amateur. If you mean by the simplicity of it, that is done on purpose. I have it saved as gif, but I dont see it as pixelated on my screen. It would work better as a png probably, but that wont work on all browsers. Also, it only moves because of the scroll bar.

It's choppy. You say you are an artist and designer but there is little evidence of design or artistry. Of course, you've made decisions on design - to use a plain gray background, to use Ariel - but that's the sort of thing any Joe could come up with by accident. The first thing visitors see is your banner, so take some time and create a stunningly beautiful one. With antialiasing!

It is pixelated; the edges of text which aren't overlaid onto clouds are crunchy. Save it as a gif with a grey matte and you'll be right as rain!
