uni - 1st term
The 1st term's over and I got a 2.1, three bloody marks off a first. Although that doesn't really matter seeing as it's only the first term of the first year. Just thought i'd show the work i've done in the past couple months, you might have seen bits and bobs knocking about. Rome Booklet Brighton Booklet Paper Cave Bits 'n' Bobs Quite a bit of photography, thought i'd bite the bullet 'cause i've never done much photography for actual college/uni work. Cheers |

you don't want to know - trust me. opinionated blah blah. Will post some work sometime - when I get the camera sorted. Borrowed a crappy digi cam, photos are crap but basically this is the story: Brief was to create a brand for PUK - an organisation for the creative field, writers, designers, directors etc. Ive used the concept of Formally informal, to represent what creatives are. Formal as in suits/clients/contracts..but then informal - swearing, drinking and generally enjoying the work they do. I also created a website, email headers, newsletters to go along side with the photos - not to mention a hell of a lot of research and development work in the sketchbook. Sketchbook photo 1 Sketchbook photo 2 work side A work side B Please bear in mind that A PASS (3RD) is 40marks/40%....they gave me 27 :|. Referred me - another words they failed me, I have to re-do the module again, I can't use any of the concepts/research/development work at all. I have to start from scratch and do a complete new set of work. So I have two modules + an 8000 word dissertation to do by the 18th, and to top it off i've just lost a member of my family, so yeah uni's great I recommend it to everybody. I did a hell of a lot of work for the module, not just what you have seen in those photos. But they still failed me, along with 6 others. Who to be fair - did really bad work, didn't do much at all. One thing that really annoys me is that one girl (who I believe didn't fail, although I don't know what mark she got) decided to go against the brief (which is a live competition brief) and add other words onto the end of the name. The brief stated for PUK said they want to keep it very British UKish. So she goes and changes the name PUK (which is their brand name) to PUKKA, then starts to do Chinese/Indian and a few other different countries languages and does designs that goes alongside their culture etc. Nothing to do with the brief or the organisation. Its like Sony going to a design agency and asking for a brand and a few other bits and bobs, then the company coming back with some work for kids: changing the name Sony to - pony and marketing the work to pensioners. ^ oh btw - nice stuff Andy mate. |

That Rome series of photos is great. Remarkable sense of depth and presence to them. I really dislike those pink covers - is there a reason why you use pink so often? Other than that the uni bought five tons of it and it must be used up. My free fonts www.utfi.net

Good werk chaps. Nice booklets andy - the colours are a tad fashionable but I like em. Photo's are bob on. I quite like the Puk work. Agree about the DVD though - looks like it was designed by different person. |

Sorry, must be my bloodshot eyes! I hate pink with a vengeance. I think it's a filthy colour. It doesn't match with anything other than green (as in a flower garden) and always reminds me of laundry disasters. But as Pat pointed out, it's a matter of taste. My free fonts www.utfi.net
