SongPanel.com

Welcome to SongPanel!

It's a personal project... an idea I had for a web tool that would help people find new music they might like. Kind of like Pandora, but in a different way.

It's still alpha (not nearly 100% functional yet).

Comments on the design only, please. I hope it's "web 2.0" for some of the more extreme critics here. It's entirely built from scratch (yes, I know the HTML doesn't validate... I don't wanna hear it.)

Specifically what I'm concerned about is the left side. I need some ideas on presentation of the content. Maybe some ideas on graphical tools, charts, etc. that I could implement that would be applicable to all visitors? Also, any ideas on what other tools I could offer to registered users?

Thanks.

so... it's a list. Not very readable because of the leading, either.
Increase padding or line height, add some fine dividers, get rid of the underlines. It should do wonders to legibility.

I'm afraid I don't like it, it looks very cold and uninviting, and on 1024x768 there is absolutely no padding from the edges which looks odd. The menu is too basic, and I'm not a great fan of the colour scheme, while the image of the headphones looks nice enough the text to the side of it is just boring, not a fan of the narrow type either.

Seriously, good luck on making this have more than a couple of users that you don't know or asked to sign up because last.fm is absolutely quality, and i'd not deviate from it, nor it's other millions of global users.
