Yeah I don't wear t-shirts like that I'm not putting you or EIII down, I'm sure people like your style and you will get work out of it. People just get bored of seeing the same thing every day, especially when thats all they contribute to the forum. |

While the same could be said about people who only post websites, I do agree. Post something else that isn't the same thing. Variety never hurt anyone. Who knows you may learn something and improve on your work. Show us some business cards, websites, or something else other than these abstract (potential poster) designs. Even if you have to invent the client. |

maybe i should just make a thread of my personal work here and update it like i do in other forums that I dont really care about LOL i guess you guys r like web designers or graphic designers that aren't too into digital art / illustrations -- which is what I post right now. the other photo manip i posted earlier took 40 hours, i guess that's still not enough variety huh? I like this forum cause it seems like some people here r working professionally as a designer. And im studying G.D. right now but I can't really be bothered making stationary and stuff like that as of late. I think my main interest is digital art/illustration/making advertisements. It's too bad there's no work on the paper requiring digital artists ; hence the reason i chose to study G.D ( i could have studied G.D. Advertising or illustration though). Dont get me wrong I still love G.D. but TBH sometimes i couldnt be bothered making stuff I find a bit boring and less creative way of expressing myself. I think my life's too busy for graphic discussions here, and I dont know much about the industry as of now anyway. |

Well thats what EIII did and look at the last few comments on his thread. People will just ignore your work if you do that. Quote:
I'm pretty sure there's all kinds of people in here and quite a few people work in "digital art" as you call it, so I think your statement is pretty invalid. Quote:
Eh?? You do know you can use illustrator/photoshop to create print work?? |

this is the showcase section Liam it is here for this purpose - don't come here with 170 posts telling people how to use the forum, we should encourage people to post stuff like this - it's far better than the usual 'site for my brothers friend' type stuff we get. |

I had more a lot more posts under a different user name which I created last year so I have actually been using this forum for well over a year now. It is better than the usual crap but what I was saying was im getting bored of it as everyday theres a new piece from cixxy and there seems to be no reasoning behind his pieces. I would much prefer to see one or two quality piece then an endless dribble of half finished stuff or the same thing over and over again. Hey thats just what I think, im not telling him to stop, just giving some advice. |

liam, I agree with d*d, I don't think you're speaking for the majority. Cixxy you are more than welcome. At least you have a style and work ethic. it's good to see, even if it's not stroking everyone's personal taste. This is Waaaaaaay better that your first post, so I think it is a good exercise. |

fair enough just my opinion. Im not saying his work is bad (not my taste), I would prefer it more if i understood it. I would rather see him post some work that he has spent more time on and was really quality as i'm pretty sure he could do that. At the moment he is just ending up being a production line and the quality is never as good then. |

thanks guys. limbo you really remember my first post huh o_O hey, i spent 40 hours on my other one and it has a solid concept. You guys were discussing curry in the topic and not talking about the piece or giving constructive feedback. Talk about art appreciation |

If we talk about curry in your thread that is a good thing. Just say "Oi, Oi, what aboot me poster knobbers!!" I am all for expression keep it coming. Is there a fighter plane in there? Reads 30 degrees centigrade to me, cents would be lower case. 30 degrees is hot. Otherwise what does the 30 cents mean. What was in your mind? Maybe have a shot at the poster comp. I think you said you will. |

Post some work liam, all I've seen you contribute so far - especially in the showcase forum - is negative opinions. Cixxy's stuff doesn't do all that much for me either but he gets a lot of stuff done and it's clear to see he's developed a fair bit recently. I really would like to see some of your work, apart from your point-and-clicks on flikr. |

Well I did give you some positive comments Pat, I will give negative if I think its wank like how I thought you photoshoot was wank until you set it out into your little book. Apart from this months poster comp you wont be seeing anything else from me for a while. I dont do anything print based to start and at my current company I'm part of a team working on a custom content management system for our website. So, obviously I have nothing to show until I get back to uni in September, unless you'd like to see lines of code. Seems like Pat just likes to follow me around the forum giving me some shit if I say anything controversial. I can give my opinion just like you do. |
