Actually no. The black gradient under the menu only goes certain distance. If you stretch the browser sideways (not that much) it stops. I appreciate it's a work in progress though. Given that it's a uniform gradient across the entire width, I'd take a vertical slice and tile it horizontally.

Personally I find it a bit bland if I'm honest.

The squares for the products seem a bit bulky, try to thin them out a bit. Also the light text color for the prices is hard to read on the light background.

I think that the color contrast on the grey background and the pricing is a little eye fatiguing, imho

Yep thanks i will change it, but the site is a bit more than just font colour on a price tag! any opinions on the wider look of the site.

Thanks

I kinda like it myself. However it doesnt break down the best semantically when you turn the CSS off, as has 3 pictures then 3 sets of info and prices, rather than having the info and prices after each picture.

That grey does not work for the background colour at all. It actually kind of cheapens the site for me.

first impressions are cold and unwelcoming. the website target group is parents? you need to appeal to them. the website should be very welcoming. i would suggest checking out some big players in the child product market for some ideas.

mothercare, for example, have a very good website. they use very light colours for the overall look and feel but strong colour for grabbing attention, friendly typefaces, medium-large sized product images which again grab attention and for all the full details of a product, they link you to another page.

in my opinion, a website aimed at parents should be warm, welcoming and friendly.

mom is happy. She has a bouncing baby (or 2 or 3). The baby boys room is light blue and yellow. All pink in the girls room.

What's the point - black and gray don't seem to capture the idea that mom is on a happy kids site. You got an eyeball staring at her in the corner. A logo that should be a logo for a website that sells Halo 3 video games. A cold and dreary gray background color.

Site should be bright and cheerful. Mom doesn't want a monitor to watch over grandma in the morgue....

I understand what you are saying but it's not a childrens website, nor is it selling pushchairs. Do you think that all parents are stupid enough to be influenced by pastel pink and blue and a stupid telly tubby face!..Get real..

You may want to do the obvious but I dont, admittedly grey may not be the right background colour but the products being sold are to prevent children being snatched, chatted up by peodophiles or worse........... are these happy bouncy colourfull scenario's?.....

The website is an ongoing personal project which is still in development.

At the moment it feels as if the products you'd buy from the site would harm your children or be used for "monitoring" in an evil-stranger-type way.

A "pastel pink and blue and a stupid telly tubby face" would be better IMO!
