hi, just trying to get some critique for a site i just finished for my first paying client ever

northcity.org

i used expression engine as my cms. i tried to make everything w3c compliant, but of course flash and its wmode parameter got in the way

Nice.
But the only design element that is disturbing to my eyes is the diagonal watermark for northcity. But that could be only me as I don't prefer text over text.

thank you for responding... yea if i had it my way, i wouldnt have the watermark there, but the client was pretty adamant about it so, what can i do

Agreed, it makes it template-ish. Overall, I think it's a nice job with compliance, etc. However, I wish there was some way around the nav pop-outs overlaying the flash. But, whatever...

Nice, but I think the navigational bar should have a little more color to it. It just seems too dull or moving towards the gray zone.

agree with the "gray zone" comment above. looks washed out towards the bottom of the nav especially.
