Home/nav

Just working on this site for a band putting on 4 Art/Music Events.

Just the Homepage and Main Navigation so far.

Had loose Brief only.... so they might hate it!

Any Opinions.

Cheers.

The top nav is funky. It seems to be that you have to rollover the top bar and then the link grows to the full height.

True, its the opposite of what you would expect i suppose, you have to activate the link with the top bar then it becomes clickable.

It would work the other way (with the bar at the bottom) but aesthetically i think it loks better on top.

The gray text in the top nav is a bit too low contrast to read easily.

Other than that, its ok.

Well that's the point really, you know what it says from the home page, and all you need to know on each individual page (location) is where you are.

It's like an LED display on a digital watch, you don't need to see all the items highlighted at once, only the information you require, ie the time

Thanks for your comments.

But you also need to know where else you can go....
I like the look, I just think it doesn't need to be quite so low contrast. Again, just my opinion.

Yeah, my opinion too. the grey inactive menu items are too low in contrast. Either that or they need a rollover state. But they definitely need lightening up a bit.

I understand what you are saying, i just looked on my Brothers laptop and all the colours looked much more insipid, and the grey nav contrast was almost invisible.

I am using a NEC flatscreen monitor and the colours seem to be alot richer than on alot of other screens even Macbooks, maybe its just my screen settings?

Thanks for your comments.

ps. is anyone else having the same layout problems as 2Dfruit on IE7???
