They are both very nice - my personal favourite is the old one. The new reminds me a bit of http://www.pipeten.com
I prefer the asterisk shape on the new one though.

I prefer the old version, its quirky, it has character. The new one looks like a medical company or a solicitors or summut.

Definitely prefer the current version. Like Tomson says, it's got character.

I would rather go with the first one myself, even though it's an unoriginal design. Logo could use some work to.

...so I will be the first one to diagree... (not for the sake of it though!)
I think the new one has more character - like the colour scheme and the presentation is quite clear. Always wanted to work with this colour combination - haven't had a chance yet
The old site seems quite influenced by (excuse my language) various trends... which makes it drown in the sea of... 'trendy sites'? Presuming the term 'trendy' is not always a positive one
In general they are both nice but since you're asking, this is my opinion.

I'd disagree - i think the second one is more likely to dissapear into a sea of equally bland pseudo-corporate style sites that seem to be springing up. The first one portrays an image more associated with the product - ie a creative, free thinking company etc.

It all depends on how you want to be seen by the outside world.

done this myself - great fun...

there is enough sites out there that are overloaded with eye-sandy. To find a site that is simple, traight to the point AND aesthetically pleasing is more difficult. This is what I think the new design could achieve!
And then there is also the dl time!
