some mockups

hey all,

Just would like some thoughts on these mockups please.

The website is aimed at goths etc.

I'm not into this style at all so I came up with a simple design.

Let me know what you think

First of all - why are there links above-right and below-left? Make sure not to confuse the user.

Secondly, from what I can tell, you are making a site for Goth-y type products; this site will not appeal to them. From the crappy purple to the trendy sans-serifs, I honestly don't see a Goth look in your page.

If you are not making this page for that audience, then I would tell you to rethink the scary guy on the front page and the black lipstick.

I guess it just comes down to an inconsistent image here. You say it's for goths etc., but really it doesn't feel like it.

well basically that pic of the guy is just temporary, i've been looking for a woman with gothic make-up on like hte black lips n eyes n white skin etc. I want this type of photo to go on the right inplace of the guy but havn't been able to find one just yet.

I've looked at many sites that are based on gothic topics etc, and well basically the majority of them are all just plain text which looks 'ugly' and then theres the very graphical ones which take ages to load. So i decided I'm gonna do something quick and simple but yet make it look good still.

typography need work - try the ordinary Times New Roman...

I don't mind the image of the black lipstick - the monochrome colours work well against the purple. I think it could quite "fresh" if the rest of the site was kept in this style...
