Just been working on the functionality/look of my Uni Director Project. Basically, we have to create an interactive Director piece based on the book metaphor (turning of pages, linear progression, contents page etc) on a topic of our choice. I have chosen to do a virtual safari on the Big Five (elephant, rhino, leopard, lion, buffalo). Each location on the safari will have subsections, film, photos, sound and information (pages within a chapter). These are what the buttons are on the left. The logical step for the navigation (contents page) was to create a map. Any pointers on the look/feel, usability issues etc, please let me know! First image is with the map "closed", and the second is how it will look once it slides in. The map will have a "you are here" cross type thing on it. ![]() ![]() |

Seems to fit the bill. Not sure how clear the buttons on the left are though. For example, an i in a circle normally represents information - yours just looks like a random page. It could mean anything. Apart from that, nice. |
