layout alternatives

I've come up with some alternatives to this kids video site.

Here they are, what do you think?

Alt 1

Alt 2

I think I might replace the girl in ALT 2 with a movie director character or something. But the point is a character goes in that position.

Also, please don't look for the picky flaws (poor alignment, etc.), these are very quick layouts I've done, and aren't perfect. The layout structure, colors, appeal and concept is what I am asking about most.

Thanks

WELL #2 is more "neat" but almost too much so and seems a little boring.
#1 on the other hand is more enticing and fun, but may be too much so and on the verge of overwhelming.

Perhaps a middle ground between the two..

Good advice. So I've updated the 2nd alternative image, and I'm leaning on this one to be a final one. Thoughts?

Why the big advertising banner, not as if kids can buy stuff online anyway? Both look hideous btw, just because you are designing for kids doesn't mean you have carte blanche to use a random collection of fonts and colours.

Well, I'm hearing the second is more organized, but the first gains more attention, so... I think I'll work on developing the first.
