Please Crit this logo
Im looking for a good critiqueing.. Im unsure of this logo I have done for a new clothing company. Here is the concept behind it, and a bit about the company. THey are a Tshirt/clothing company. I have also been designing the Tshirts. Very vintage, funky distressed type shirt designs. Very young. What happened actualy is they hired me for their first Tshirt design and I thought that is all I was doing. I designed the 19eighty2 portion of this logo for a part of the 1st shirt and they liked it so much they wanted it to be part of the logo for the company. I am trying to make it into a logo that works. Im just so unsure. it looks good at times but I jsut dont know if it works. Please let me know what you think! details of why or why not it works.. thanks.. try not to be too hard on me.. |

The rise thing just doesnt work with it for me, the rise lettering also looks squashed - suppose I should guess this is the existing/old logo or something that they're wanting merging? If possible maybe just have the rise not within a box in either of the fonts used below ... perhaps, feels like it just needs crafting not entirely sure about how the word clothing sits |

aye well thats what he described, its a bit of a shoehorn job, not very clever. Another thought, does 1982 actually have any relevance to the company? If not... ehm ... dunno bit silly using it, maybe an attempt to remake the Rise Clothing thing in that style? |

Thanks for the feedback so far. I should have done this before but didnt. Here is the meaning of the name to them. rise 19eighty2 stands for the owner/founder of the clothings companies brothers death about a year ago. He made up the name in memory of him. His bro was born in 1982 and the rise stands for him being in heaven now watching down over him and his fam and friends... Any tips on what I can do with the rise? It IS what has been bothering me about this logo. Like I mention before, when it was just the 1st shirt design I had rise in a script font as well, it worked for the shirt but not for a logo. IM going to keep stabbing at it. Here is a centered version, thoughts on this? |

is the company rise 1982 clothing 1982 rise clothing if the order doesn't matter, I'd drop the rise below the 1982 and stretch it out to fit over the word clothing, and do it in the same font, but still reversed out like it is above. |

Just a thought as I just feel the two things are fighting each other too much - see attached, the type I feel still needs work maybe a sans serif with similar tracking and closer consistency between the two |

Designers are strange :)

The best logo is the one with the capital R of your last post. The design is altogether really good. [ Programmers Voice - Blog about the internet, code and development ]
