Bits and bobs.

Just finished two sets of 12" vinyl inner labels. Spare time fun in between the day job and the MA. The font was already established before I came along. Its two sublabels showcased on one record, hence the totally different styles for each side. Boomkat has the first one back in stock this week.

the yellow type is disappearing a bit against that corroding copper colour in version 2 other than that - 2 is my choice.

This kind of stuff is not really my bag though. i'm too old and boring!

Okay. I like the 1st from both versions. Put those together and I would be happy. I know they were showcasing two styles... but they are so far different. The space ones are just not my thing, and if I was purchasing a piece of vinyl on look alone I would go for the more urban looking.

I got into Graphic Design (14 years ago) to get into doing vinyl albums, and covers.... never got there professionally, but it's what got me started.

If it's electronic music, then it's great!

Yeah its dubstep / breakbeat. I probably didn't make it clear that these aren't mockups that I'm choosing from, they are two records; side A & B for each one, that have already gone to print.

The spacey feel isn't my favourite either, however it only takes 30 minutes to generate the planets and their halo effects - these jobs have to be quick as theres not much money involved. It also has to be something I can produce variants of - as I don't know how long the series will run for and I don't want to run out of ideas half way!

The halo details start out as fractals from apophysis (free fractal generator). They are then edited and the planets added in PS.
