Ive never been a fan of the colors orange, grey and white when used together so right off the bat I tend to dislike your site. Some of the text is small (Our Work page, How we work "Web Standards") Other than that theres nothing special about the site except its clean, and looks thoughout.

I'm quite liking the font selection used and the way the content is delivered with such cleanliness.

Overall the colour scheme is a bit too oldy fashionedy for my liking though.

I'm not mad about the colours either, but neither do I find them offensive.

You seem to have a fairly straightforward, functional, no nonsense design style which is also reflected in the client sites that you have chosen to feature. A lot of non-designers (i.e. clients) don't realize that it's often as challenging to keep your design clean, as it is to have all the bells and whistles. And from a business point of view, this is often the most effective approach.

Perhaps this could be something you could play on a little more, to start to develop a stronger identity. Right now, your site doesn't say anything that makes you any different from the other ten-thousand freelancers' sites on the 'net. I used to work for a major advertising agency in London (I won't name them, but it wouldn't be difficult to figure out who). The company mantra was "Brutal Simplicity of Thought", and they played this card at practically every opportunity. It was an effective strategy because the client saw that they were focused on effective business rather than just wanky art for art's sake.

That said, and to put an entirely polar view, if I were a client and I did want something a little 'out there', I would perhaps wonder whether you were the right guy for the job, since you have no examples of this kind of work in your portfolio. Perhaps keeping the focus on "strong, clean, effective design", you could still provide an example of something with a little more creatively driven, even if it's just a personal project.

Thanks for your feedback guys.

I am a it surprised about the colours as most of the people I have showed the site liked them.

Yes the focus of the site is clean, strong effective design. it pretty much is my mantra.

@ Snowshiro: I appreciate your comments.

I think that by being focused on strong, clean well thought out design my site will stand out from other freelancers – things might be different in London, but here every freelancer my current job has seen their sites are poor.

Unfortunately I don't have any "way out there" projects in my private work (yet) in certainly have done a fair few in my day job. I have never been a fan of putting personal projects in as I think live jobs only really count. But that is personal opinion. These are very very early days for me so hopefully my folio will grow quickly with a good range of work.

Cheers guys
