Camp Brighton
Hi all, just want to get some feedback on some logo concepts I've hashed together for a global geek event which is going to be hosted in Brighton later this year. Brief was to keep a consistency with previous events while incorporating visual elements of Brighton. Just to clarify the thinking behind the concepts: Concept #1: I wanted to convey sea waves in an abstract form by using stylized grid lines in the hope to represent a theme of technology. Concept #2: The initial idea was to very simply drop in the colours of rock - but probably lends itself to a rainbow (variety of people in the network?) or so the Pride flag. Why not cash in on the gay clichés of Brighton? Concept #3: It's a seagull! Concept #4: Just joeying around with a mascot/character concept. All comments welcome. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Freelance Brighton | Design Agency Brighton | Twitter | Linkedin | Plurk

my fav is #1, seems clean and the cyan gives off a camp vibe (maybe its just me), which i like #2 not keen on the mix of that red and cyan #3 didn't think that was a seagull. too hard to make out #4 the mascot is rather anoying. like the colors tho |

Thanks for the feedback so far. I've horizontally flipped the seagull - do you think that help fit better with the shape? Any suggestions for suitable colour combination for concept#2? Baring in mind limited to 3 colours - cyan, magenta and yellow. Agree that the character isn't right. I haven't put this concept forward as a concept as the style doesn't fit the event at all. #2 because it's simple, not to hard on the eyes, and I dont like the rest, well mabey #1 but the detail in the flame I would just have as a solid color (the blue). Americans don't understand sarcasm.

Dude, it's in Brighton. It probably is a gay bar. I agree with most of the consensus. I'd for for 1. Number 2 makes me think "record label" or "clothing company". Number 3 certainly has a more Brightonian theme, but I think there's too much complexity. I don't really understand 4. What is it? |
