The first is the most stylish - it's clean, the colours are good together and the whirly bit looks quality. The rest are a bit too gimmicky but the seagull adds a nice touch.

Thanks all for the feedback.
Just to clarify, 4th version isn't going to be put forward as a concept.
I was really just playing with an idea. Totally not suitable.

And yes, it's a character based on a stick of rock candy.

Aye. Did a series of them a while ago for a Brighton based character comp.

It's for an 'invitation only' geektastic event which occurs in different areas around the work.
Open source programming and alike - in the same vein as FooCamp.

Maybe the gay pride colours are a no no then. Don't think it would appreciated to much by the customer.

In this case, I would go for 1, but give it more clout by simplifying the waves, maybe try and focus on the neg space of the lines too to give it more interest?

But then the seagull could work nicely in a speacial google-esque way.

Definitely 1 mate, 2 a bit too 'gay pride' and the 3/4 are just a wee bit to busy for me.

Customer? It's a freebie!
Good suggestions. I'll polish artwork following feedback.

Regarding the gayness of opt 2, baring in mind the majority of folk attending this event will be coming from outside Brighton, what is the first thing people think when Brighton is mentioned?
