College work
Work for my college project, which is a pack of promotional material for S.A.F Records, a label in California - they've sent me content so it might turn into a proper printed job. Anyway, below are pics of the first pages of a fold out booklet, which folds from A5 to A2 in a few spreads. Below that is a fold out poster, A2, to go in the pack, with band names etc. Everything's in mock up stage, and i'd love to know what you think, especially about the identity which i've redone from this: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Hahaha shush dh Right, well, basically, when brainstorming for logos, I couldn't get past the LP record idea, as Records is in the name (the name comes from another venture of theres, Strictly Amateur Films, and no, not what it sounds like). So i moved away from image based logos, did the typographic blah, which is sposed to be drippy and a bit edgy/gothy/creepy cos the music's edgy. I still wanted to use LPs in the design, so i thought why not use similar circular objects through the pack, so that's why the plates there. I've since decided only to do that on the front and back cover so there's some contrast. Hopefully I'm going to polybag it all up, and print a record player arm onto the front, so it looks as though its playing the plate below it like a record. Whole homegrown idea etc. Have to admit though it's mostly aesthetic. Wonder where lipatov is. |

I think its quite cool, however i'm not 100% sure on how the plate is relating to being a record apart from they are the same shape. I think that the s.a.f. logo on the top left on the front is a tad too large. and its not very legible. At first i thought it was just a red splodge ;] |

Personally I like it mate, the mark is pretty unusual and stays on the right side cheesey comic-bookishness. If you were looking for a spin on the 'homegrown idea' you could have the record player arm on the plate, with a fried egg whapped onto the record (or beans, links, whatever). |

I think it looks good bud. I don't 100% get the concepts whteher you have plucked them out of the air or they relate especially to that label and the music if they do then I am sure the fans of the label would be even more impressed. |

The plate.. Now if it was for promo stuff for DJ Food... That would be bang on. I like the look alot but the concept is a little lost on me. Hmmm.. Strictly Amateur Films... Super 8 film goes on a round spindle. Pop a tone arm on one of them and I could see the reason. just food for thought. |
