I think it would be way cool if you used the splash screen as time to load the images on the main site...

ALSO splash screens suck.

I can dig it though. Good job.

It's preference, as much as any other aspect of design, but it's just another thing in my way to the information I'm after.

I understand splash screens in video games and in flash heavy sites... they need time to load, and that's cool, but if it's just something that I have to click to get to the main site... well, you already know I want to get to the main site, so why should I have to tell you again?

Splash page is pretty much useless and a waste of time - not that it looks bad. Once again good job, load times are kind of iffy on this and your other website though.

What happened to my post...thought I already posted here?

Anyway, it appears you've misspelled "welcome" on the splash page.

Not sure if it's a browser thing or not but I see a few little problems.

In Firefox on PC the bottom of the white box is screwed. Also the margins and alignment have problems throughout. The black horizontal nav text looks bad on the green bar for me. The flash object needs to be automatically activated for IE on PC.

Once those things are sorted it'll look better I reckon.

Everything's so round I think it could need a couple of sharp edges here and there. And I'm not a big fan of the dull colors either, but I guess thats set by brand?! Well besides that looks alright to me. It sure fills its purpose.

And oh yeah, the rounded corners in the footer looks a little off. The rounded corner image doesn't go all the way down.

The splash is pointless, i was trying to find something to click to enter the main site, then it obviously re-directed!

I'm with superstoffe on the roundness too.

Splash pages act as barriers - to users and search engines. They ad nothing - seems a bit self felating. It may be hard to murder your darlings - I'd definitely get rid of it.

Site underneath is good.

Site is defo much better than half the shite that gets posted in these showcase threads. I get the same issue with the bottom footer maybe you need to switch the css to no repeat background?

Also agreed in some places the rounded corners are too much or at least too rounded if you know what I mean. Sometimes you can use typography to split the page also but I like how you have defined the space properly.

Also the splash screen is a bad idea but if a client insists just explain especially in the case of this site a timed redirect will severly hamper SEO.

SORT OUT THE ALIGNMENT.

Use a fixed consistent padding for the sides and the top, the rounded squares need to be aligned with each other too, i know this is probably quite anal but it's really annoying me. Give the copyright room to breathe too. Favicon is not connected to the site at all? Calendar is a bit small. Main nav bar looks pants - why not use rollovers like in the vertical listed one?

The favicon is the standard joomla one, he's forgotten to replace it.

The splashpage is a waste of time, lose it.

I see a padding glitch with the footer graphic in Firefox.

Apart from that its a good Joomla site. (meaning we will ignore the source code). Nice one.
