Identity Crit
I posted a thread a while ago with a new identity for the design studio that I started several years ago called "See Design". We work mainly in web and print design but sometimes work with identity and branding. The name of the company plays on the concept of vision and being able to see/envision a creative concept from a blank page and develop it to its fullest. I'm trying to create a professional feel with a fresh creative edge with the logo. Thoughts on the attached? Attached: Logo and Business Card comps |

Don't have the mark & type bleeding off the left of the reversal – it doesn't work! And definitely lose the white logo from the back of the card, it's already subtley implied with the large crop. Not too far away mate! |

The logo is a couple things. Mainly it is "creative burst" for lack of a better term. Since the concept of the name is to conceptualize/envision/see "design" from a blank page/"nothing", this is the primary use of the abstract mark. Further, it allows you to interpret it as almost anything - allow you to conceptualize your own "design" (if you will) out of it. Could be paint splats, could be: Quote:
Be honest though - did that make any sense at all? haha Quote:
I've tried a different faces, including some thin serifs and the likes, but I want to keep some element in the identity that is still that classic/informational/structured feel.... the mark is a bit abstract that I wanted to ground it with the slabish-serif. Quote:
Thanks for the thoughts - I agree - need to work on that bleeding type! As for the white logo on the back of the card, you think I should lose the logo completely or just print it in black? |

I'd definitely loose it completely mate, you've already got it on the front, so the logo is going to be seen. No need for repetition. Also think it takes something away from the cropped version. In my opinion |

I probably only see it because David said that it looks like a man who is in flames and falling to the ground. Overall it looks pretty decent, if you feel that this is the right one then go with it. |
