Thomaz: work out the colours. sometimes its the key to make such pieces interecting! Ie - try to colour each of the 3 sides of the house it will give it more depth.
The good thing about this technique is, that you dont have to worry about perspective! (no vanishing point)

Bill: what was that? some Atari or somethnig? I had whole 32("64") COLOURS on my Amiga!

I agree about the colours and shading. It really would go a long way to fleshing out the piece.

-

It was an old Amstrad CPC 64 that I'd borrowed from a friend originally with the idea of playing retro games on (Chuckie Egg in particular, which I now rule at).
It was a pixel-by-pixel effort done around '92 in the months before I decided to go back to college and 'do something about my hobby interest in graphic design'.
Clearly I peaked too soon as since then it's been downhill all the way.

Just for the sake of a(nother) laugh, I've attached another one I made earlier.
Can you imagine how quickly the cold, Winter evenings must have flown by?

its nice but the highlights on the windows are the wrong way around... you should ditch the highlights and go for reflections instead. (think clouds!)

lot of time for pixel pics, I started on delux paint 2 on the amiga
thomaz - a good start but the building definately needs some different colouring, it looks to flat and doesnt stand out from the background colour enough.
Hawken - the snes is a legend ( I still have mine )

So...

...maybe this one is better. Perhaps the darkness on the houses is on the wrong side . but hey - you can't have it all

Hawken, you are a pixel god. You need to get some work on your site.

Did you and Toby ever think about finishing JunglePop?

That was the signature I used when I first started visiting web/des/dev forums.
Clearly too much tv after school when I was that age.
