You could use pixel fonts or maybe use dynamic text fields in flash rather than the static ones you appear to be using at the moment to sharpen up the smaller text (just remember to specify ones everyone has, or embed them)... if that's why Oli's suggesting pixel fonts? but then again he does seem to have a particular love for them judging by his own sites Like the side swipe motion bringing the different pages on screen. Maybe you could load the pictures into the main site rather than having pop ups? easy if your using MX a bit more problematic if your using 5 or earlier !? just ad to the overall dynamic of the site. |

Hey I love 'em myself... if only there were some everyone had, then gone would be the days of Ariel,Verdana,Ariel,Verdana,Ariel,Verdana,Ariel,Ve rdana... But if your sharpening text that's gonna change a lot I'd recomend those dynamic text fields, if you don't want them to be selectable just uncheck the option in the properties box. It's also got the advantage that you can go all dynamic with your content and change content without opening flash again, but that's another story. |

Chips > I saw this on designate and I like what you've done since - a definite improvement. The welcome page looks really nice without the distorted figures. Its much better (and frankly less scary) now than the image of you snorkelling. fwiw - I wouldn't change the font. Nice one |

Thanks guys. I'll probably keep that font as I really like it (it's called cooper black) Good idea about using MX to load up the photos instead of pop ups. Last time I tried this, the quality of the jpgs were not so good though. may try it again, as I know popups are not too popular The site does look kind of empty at the moment doesn't it? well, in terms of the amount of text there. The work section does have quite a bit crammed in there though. Might change the 'about' section to have something more text based - possibly some stuff about interesting projects I've found on the net..dunno?? like in k10k.net. And have like a news & snippets of info...stuff that I'm planning in the future & projects that I'm part of. I'm fairly happy with the layout now anyway, after changing it about 10 million times. I was going a bit mad at one point..just redoing it over and over..arrggg! |

Know what you mean about the round and round and round... it's always so much easier doing it for clients rather than your self. I'm re-doing my own site right now, the scripting and content is ready but I just can't seem to settle on a look. It keeps bouncing between simple/minimal to elaborate and complex. Thing is I like both these kinds of approaches but can't decide how to present myself, grrrrrr... It's not that I don't like popup's, just that I think there is scope in the design you already have to include the photo's within' the design. Keeps people imersed and doesn't wrench you out of the site. As for the quality of your uploaded jpegs in MX I'm not sure, I've never had a problem... I'll check it out. |

[quote:4d3f84e4c9="japanmik"] is it really chips [/quote:4d3f84e4c9] Nice one - I'm near Kelvinbridge. Also used to live near Cottiers. I'm not originally from Glasgow, but it's a great place...esp the west end. |
