Website for a friends production company.
Had a friend comment about to much brown. What do you think? This website is just in its concepting phase. How is the overall design? I'm new to this site, this is actually nice being able to get comments from my designer peers, lol. Just a jpg for now. http://www.nick-brewer.com/projects/...oloradjust.jpg |

Okay, there are some issues with this layout. 1. The color scheme is quite dark. 2. I really don't like the background and reflection in the tag line. Also the background in the tag line is hiding the website name's reflection. 3. The font used in the welcome text heading is not quite readable. I hope these points would help you in modifying the current design. Arjun www.vraxs.com |

Too many effects and gimmicks everywhere I reckon. Looks like you're trying to make a DVD menu or something. The concept phase should be where you work out the general layout and look and feel. Currently says chocolates not film to me. |

For a kick off i would change the color scheme. have a look at this site and think about what color changes would suit your site: COLOURlovers Coup.0 :: Color Trends & Palettes Secondly i would change the logo and header. try looking here LogoPond - Identity Inspiration for some inspiration. I don't think the navigation looks too bad, but the main content panel could do with some work. Try to make your third column "Latest Project" stand out more. Maybe a different color background? this could come from the new color palette that you may want to choose. Add some contact details for the footer also. That's all for now |

^ I agree with everything everyone has pointed out thus far... you should also reorganize your content chunks, theres no need for latest project to be wayyyyyyyyy over to the right, if you bring it down under the welcome text, it should unify the design more, also, there are like a bazillion different shades of brown you are using from different families, look at the content headings, the welcome background is completely different from the latest project heading, and doesn't have any of the same styling added to it... namely, it doesnt "slice" itself out of the background the way the Latest Project heading does... All in all, you need to be moooore consistent with your colours, and style elements. P.S. Whats with the blue in the logo?? and the grey tagline background? |
