Feedback on Site Design

This is a comp for a site for a church ministry aimed at 15-25 year olds. Honest thoughts? I'm having one of those mid-project crisis moments where you want to ditch the whole thing and start over again.....

See: http://www.seedesign.ca/embassy_site..._new_feb28.jpg

Thanks!

I really like it but there's something about the menu on the left that doesn't feel right but I'm not quite sure what.

I think it's great but agree with keenan - maybe the menu on the left doesn't feel right because of the different font weights used on each button. I find that a little confusing to look at. Just a thought!

hmm... thanks for the thoughts. one of the biggest issues I faced was making a logical and usable nav. The client will not change their mind on the length of the last two nav items, so it made things difficult.... any thoughts?

The problem is the different font weights can imply a break or a change in tone where there isn't one, like in "what the lord has done" also you have abbreviated 'information' but not 'announcements'. It looks messy, reconsider the styling

Ya i totally agree that the weight denotes change. I'll work on something...

Also, if "information" is shortened to "info", you think "announcements" should be shortened to "annouc."?

Thanks!

I think the nav is ok...it does need something else. I think the blue background is just giving to much blue, and I would clean up the right side alittle bit.

Lacks consistency and direction overall I think. The right column and "listen live" bits just look completely different to the main left area. It made me think they were commercials or something.

I'd stick to your gut instinct and start from scratch. You know you want to...

Really? I was kinda feeling the nice thick blue on the site... as for the right side, do you mean "clean it up" as in layout or in what sense? Thanks!

haha don't we all always want to start over? the biggest thing is the timeline right now, I think I may be forced to carry this concept out to completion and than go back to it if I wanted. Thanks for your thoughts - I'll try and work with the consistency and flow.
