critique me

Version one of my site...

icreativ.co.uk

All comments welcome. Version 2 will have a portfolio section, and will be more image heavy. This one was a bit of a rush if Im honest.

Thanks all!

Design-wise...I am not too keen to be honest...it kinda looks a little templated. I am not sure about the body text and I dont know why the welcome image is made in flash!? The code is untidy but that is largely down to the site being built with tables. What program did you use to make it? Dreamweaver?

Yep was Dreamweavered.

Version 2 is going to be alot more CSS based, getting rid of those pointless nested tables.

The flash was just a way to get some movement on there really.

That amount of movement isn't worth a flash item in my opinion!

CSS is the way to go! Dreamweaver isn't bad and I do use it from time to time but more for the Homesite editor in it...there is a lot of unnecessary code when developing WYSIWYG in DW!

It's not a great design although it does have some potential, lose the hexigons from the background and from around the images, they don't work with the rounded boxes that your using for your main interface. Try adding some more colour and get rid of the flash title it's not needed and doesn't add anything to the page.

Hope this helps

Colours are ok - although being a creative agency I always prefer to see a more vibrant pallet. Your current pallet is dominated by grey... Maybe try working with the orange more and give less prominence to the grey tones.

Neat idea. Reminds me a bit of the old default Drupal setup though - probably just because of the arrows on everything.

The movement was pointless, get rid of the flash!

I generally quite like it, but It made me want to ask "can I have a P please Bob?"

IMO it looks as though you know what you are doing... but it could be better.

Its a good designed, but I would have to agree - it does look a bit templated.

I don't think there is any problem with this design. Color scheme and layout are good. However I am not sure why the top hexagon is cropped in the background (left side).

The amount of movement of that image is ridiculous for flash. You can do it with an animated GIF!

Fancy tuning it down a bit mate - no need for the site promo's and emphasis on sentences - makes you look like a spamcock.

Some really good advice and comments guys. I noticed the cropped hexagon in the bg too. Its only visible on firefox. Ill fix that asap. I know whats happening.

I do realise the flash is a little pointless, and if i include flash in version 2, it will be much more justified.

Thanks everyone for all comments. Constructive criticism is very much welcomed, as its really one of the best ways to learn.

Cheers everyone!
