Just Published

I've just published my new site.

http://www.scottfreeman.net/

I'm rather happy with it. What do you think?

Nice, remember this from the "Updating site" thread (or something like that!!). Looks good coded and loads rather quickly. Also like the way you integrated FAMFAMFAM icons.

I think it looks quite alright. I dunno if you intended this to be an extremely personal site, but the Vegan propaganda and "About our rabbits" section is a bit too much if you meant to make this your graphic design folio.

Cool overall.

I like it.

Maybe add a border to your photo/album images on the right. The reverse of your main nav colours (as in green, with a blue hover) may be nice.

It's very nice, but I stand by what I said before - the branding could be a lot stronger.

Pretty nice. I think there should be the same spacing on the top and bottom (On windows FF there is no bottom spacing.

It's a bit personal and I agree, the branding could be stronger, but overall it looks polished.

looks good.

Only criticisms are that the headers dont stand out enough (should possibly be bold or another font) and the stuff in the right column looks cramped (could do with some more vertical padding on certain elements)

nasty big gap in safari above the menu

didn't you already make a thread pimping your veggie powered website?

recycle and reuse dude! Every new thread you make creates a larger carbon footprint!

I haven't been here for a while and everyone is so nice now! The site looks nice and profesh. Like others said though the content takes away some of that profesh image.

Get a new camera! That lens is awful!

The site has a nice back end - can't decide on your focus... why are you publishing it? Is it a personal blog; about you, your girlfriend and your rabbits? or a portfolio site?

Sorry, if i got this as part of a job application I'd weep.

+ lots of oddities in there - like a portfolio page displaying the site in light box - no need and a few missing image links...

The design works ok but doesn't thrill.

Thanks for the feedback... I've made some changes based on all your comments:

- Spacing on the bottom of the page against the browser window.
I don't know why I didn't notice this before!

- Border added to images on the right.
Looks much tidier now, thanks.

- Padding between elements on the right increased.
Looks much less cluttered now.

- Removed some personal stuff and cut down a lot on some others.
It should be a portfolio site really, not a "MySpace Profile". Some personal stuff remains, but it's only background info type stuff.

- Headings made stronger.
Sections now stand a little clearer, thanks.

- Fixed white line above tabs in Safari (hopefully - can someone confirm?).
Some dodgy CSS to blame on this one!

- Tried to increase branding.
Not totally sure how, since I don't have a particular brand, but had a go anyway. Tried to tie in the colours a little more (subtle changes) and padded out the header logo slightly. Made a better favicon.

Thanks again for all your feedback and advice. It's greatly appricated!

I dunno, I'd still say the life story of your girlfriend and pet rabbits is a bit too much for a site that's just supposed to showcase you and your skills.
