Blog website template

OK so I am planning to open a Blog website so today I designed the template.

http://www.freewebs.com/adamgriffiths/2.gif

Obviously it wont be on Freewebs when I set it up properly etc. All comments good or bad are welcome.

Thanks in advance.

Looks a bit too plain at the moment I think...and if it's a Blog, why are you throwing "we" around? Just sounds a bit odd.

I think we need to see a version with a bit more, because currently it just looks fecking massive with no substance or depth, will be rather plain too.

It's not even half finished as a layout, the scale is all generally too big and there's basically nothing to see other than 10 mins worth of work. Put some effort in FFS.

*edit* Diluted version - I took out some of the harsher comments. I wish people would spend a little time working up their designs before posting them on here.

looks like you're in the right direction for a blogsite although it's a bit big (maybe shrink the height of the blue and the font sizes). Use some of the blog websites from csslove.net's gallery for examples of good blogs.

It literally looks like 4 or 5 minutes' work.

'Dubios' should be 'dubious'.

This isn't a knock, but you need to read a little more, we are all on a learning curve no matter what experience.

You need to pay attention to type, space (especially neg space), colour - basically the pre-requisites of design.

There are some really good books out there.

Mark Boulton has good articles he has written, check them out they are pretty good.

I know exactly what you mean. I think this accounts for a lot of the agro on this site too.

Why don't people post this sort of thing in the "Help me" section? The showcase is meant for finished stuff that might just need a bit of tweaking in my opinion.

I agree that more thought needs to be used, and a defined direction needs to be shown, but surely the showcase is for critting and developing?
