Me and a couples of mates have been on the recieving end of some harsh comments here, but I would still like some critique on, I hope you agree, a much better site. www.help-4-you.co.uk it's purpose is to help people with homework and other matters. Thanks for the advice, TJS WebDesign.

well, its not you thats important is it! Other people may have different opinions to you, now please think before you speak! What exactly is wrong with it anyway, and i used Fireworks 8, and it is supposed to be a retro effect that everyone else I've asked have said they like! so thanks for the 'helpful' comment!

When you ask people to their face, they say things to be nice. "retro" is a rubbishy "effect" my 7 year old brother could've made that!

it's not for stuff like that, it's for people to post problems and other people to answer them.

Maybe their family and friends are too busy cooking up or putting a brick through the window of Mr Patels corner shop?

I did ask for critique, and yes I got it, but I haven't got any suggestions for improvements! And personally, I think a fully fledged external css site is good for a 13 year old...

It's bloody amazing work for a child.
When I was 13 I was out playing with my mates.
Plenty of time to be sat working out standards complient code later in life.
Get out and enjoy your childhood.

Jesus, sounds like I'm turned into my old man!

If you mentioned your age, I think you would have got a lot more helpful comments. I've only starting coming to this forum regularly for a week, but there have been some older designers (18+) whose work is not even as good as yours.

If you are trying to compete with professionals, you've got a way to go. But if you're just starting out and you really are 13, I'm frankly really proud of what you've done. I started doing this stuff when I was 14, so I can totally see where you're coming from. Check out what I did back then -- yours is way more impressive http://www.dimlightstudios.us/temp/stickbo/

Take a look at this recent thread for some advice (ignore the trash talk) that people here have given in a similar situation. Please comment on my website....

If I'd have to give you some quick advice, I'd say left-align your "Navigation" header, and move "Help Topics" to the top of your navigation. That's what your site is all about, right? You need to make it as prominent as possible. You also probably want a "Click to see our Help Files" link to that page in your introduction text. You might also think of building a mock-up of your website in a graphic program like Photoshop so we can critique it prior to you actually building the thing.

Realize that people here are much older than you and have been doing this kind of thing for a long time. You're young and have a lot to learn, but if you continue to show this kind of passion you'll be a pro soon enough

This website really just reminds me of one of those premade websites that MS frontpage had, they all are horrible on the eyes and do not flow at all. Sorry, everything clashes. I suggest using more subtle colors. The banner is horrible, I very rarely like fade effects, and this one is poorly done.

Yes its cool that your on the css bandwagon, but still, even if your website's code is spotless, thats only 50% of a good website, the other 50 is how it looks.

Ohh and, dont use <p align="center">, rather make a div align center, or better yet a div with a align center attribute in your external css file.

I love this forum but I can't believe how harsh some of you fuckers are being. To call a table-less site by a 13 year old shit is the most pathetic kind of bullying. Good luck to you, you're off to a good start, but obviously there's a lot to learn.

I'm wankered, by the way.
