My Star Trek website. Rate.
Yeah, so I'm a geek, tell me about it Made it a while back for some practice. Overall I'm pretty happy with it - but some bits could be better. Also sadly its not XHTML valid because when I wrote it I was a bit of an amateur at standards and though it was perfectly ok to stick a <p> tag in a <h3> **shame** - But it is fairly semanticly coded which I believe has helped a ton for SE ranking. Anyway: http://www.utopiaplanitia.info/ --- |

Holy. Fuck. You, out of the thousands of visitors including myself are the only one to spot that typo. That is pretty big fuck up on my part. I honestly cant believe I missed that. Shame on me. This is the type of error I'll definetely correct. Cheers. To save face, lets just say I did it on purpose for SEO reasons |

Oh man. 529k background file. You need to split that thing up... at least give the header its own smaller image. For the subject matter I guess it's effective. I'd move that big red badge somewhere else (like below the nav or in the blue area before LOCATION) and rearrange the header a little to prevent unnecessary negative space. Aside from the header I'd say the rest of the site is effective, but even argue that the text column width is a tad wider than ideal. The image thumb could also be a wee bit smaller. |
