Logo crit please

Ello

Working on a logo for a photographer who wants to create an identity that is 'flowery'. They are very keen on pastels, though I am not. They also want the logo marque to act as a watermark on the sample images that they will send to clients to choose which prints they would like, hence the designs being light in stroke with no large solid areas.

Any feedback welcome or suggestions as to decent logos that have used pastel colours...

Cheers

Lee

I like the one on the left better. V Nice.

The one on the right seems the vegetation is contrived to be involved with the text, unnatural.

The patterning is a good idea - as it'll work well for the watermarks but right now it looks clichéd.

I like the illustration, but wouldn't it be too fine at smaller sizes?

left is better. the only negative comment I have is that it is a bit complex of a symbol .

dont create an identity that is too busy. those designs are nice but they wont work when they need their logo smaller.

also the flowery effects are sooooo last year.

Thanks for the feedback chaps n chapesses.

The client was very specific about the logo being flowery, but I do understand that the James Blunt album cover thing has been done quite a bit which is why I tried to keep it down to just 2 strong colours rather than the pastels. I hadn't envisaged using the logo as it is in small circumstances, I was going to use sections of it for different things, such as the business card example below.

Thanks again for your responses,

Lee

The left one is better, I liked it applied to the business card, but I think that the center of the logo shouldn't be left out, since it's what I think relate the logo to the photographer.

I think it's pretty. I guess you could still use it as a watermark, by selecting some of the smaller stems of the flower and give them a percentage tint of the main colour?

Nice.

Really like the left one. The illustration is nice, didn't notice the camera lens in the middle at first, gives it some extra depth. The type's good too.

2nd one is NICE. Like it more than the 1st...

...but logic says that a smaller version of the 1st one will work better I think.

So stuff that - go with the 2nd!

Your sincerely,

Mr Indecisive

I think the left would work better, as the lens is very noticeable. I'd like to see it toned down in terms of detail slightly, to give room for stronger lines, just to keep focus of the main parts when the logo is at smaller sizes.
