Logo Advice?!

Im doing the branding for my sisters new business, she's opening a small beauty therapy clinic back home in Ireland. The name 'Luisne' means glow in Irish. Any comments, advice or criticisms would be appreciated... Thanks in advance..

It doesn't work for me. Overly complex, doesn't glow.
Assuming a small beauty therapy clinic needs to be trendy why not work on something along the lines of...

I agree with sub it is overly complex, if you want to keep the artwork on the left the wording needs to be simpler and remove the green background.

Maybe something like this.

Thanks for the comments, I think centrereed is right about the background, I originally had it as a gradient to white, but maybe nothing at all is even better. Not sure I agree with the font suggestion though, I picked the original one as there is something quite Celtic about it, which was the same line of thought for the ornamental pattern at the end of the 'e'.
The blur is alright. a bit 'Tate modern', (really like some of your other work though), but I think that coupled with the pronunciation issues might completely throw legibility out the window.
I agreed on the point regarding pronunciation, but there is no intention of a global campaign just yet, if she decides to do so at a later date a peculiar name can sometimes be quite beneficial, I can think of quite a few. But its not something that is really concerning her at the moment.
Thanks again for the suggestions...

Whats the point in asking for suggestions when you don't really care? Are you sure you just didn't want to get applause for what you created?

The font under Luisne must go. Those two fonts don't mix weary well at all. And the text under Luisene is placed weary weird to.

I don't understand where you got this idea from, when somebody offers an opinion, that's what it is, an opinion... I liked their suggestions and responded, said what I agreed with, what I didn't and then why. Really don't know where you get the idea that I didn't care what they had to say...?!

I'm not digging the font. It's a bit too 'Cat in the Hat' (wacky) for a beauty salon. The 2 fonts don't compliment each other either. Has potential but needs work.

Dunno, but maybe a Serif font will allow you to work the swooshes and swirls in better?

Sub's logo would be great for an optician.

haha, very true!

*stabs comic sans*

We have a running joke here at work about neuropol because one of our designers was addicted to it for a short while. Its amazing how often it appears. the game FEAR used it, Debenhams used in on some of their packaging... countless DnB flyers... the list goes on and on.
