nice site. odd content for a flash site. i'd have thought that your client would be more intersted in decent search engine rankings than a slick flash site, but, a job well done. i like the transitions between sheets. why the '@' sign - it confused me buttons underneath the map - not very obvious that these are the different locations i'd add a bit more of a description to the page title, give search engines a chance at least spelling mistake on the oil and lubricants page - 'couloring' (not even the yanks spell it like that) and just after that we've got a ',...' which seems a bit gratuitious |

Technically, it seems very good - it loads quickly and works smoothly. Aesthetically, some might see it as a little dated and generic, but it is done well. (And I suppose metallic styling suits the business anyway - so ignore that comment) Spelling isn't too good (as above) and spamming your code with keywords won't help the site's ranking. Overall, it's nicely done - and the music's not too annoying. |

Yes it works. I don't do it myself, but I know of people who do. Just set up a class for the <hx> tag in your external CSS file to change the colour of the font to the same as the background, then call the class in your main code. To be extra careful, put your CSS file in a subdirectory and close the door on it to Google via a robots.txt file. That way, all Googlebot "sees" is a <hx> tag with a class attached to it. It has no way of seeing that that class changes its colour. Note, this method can be detected by a manual check by Google. Something they do not do at the moment, but you never know for the future, so use the method at your own risk. That's fuckin' ingenious, if I understand it correctly. It's a Swiss fuckin' watch.

Fwiw, they do perform manual checks on sites reported for using abusive/spamming techniques. www.google.com/contact/spamreport.html There's no knowing if/when they'll get round to manually checking any particular reported site, but all it takes is a competitor (or their web dev bod) to check out the site (possibly looking to see how you're positioned so well in SEs) and notice the code and drop a note to Google and your site may be blacklisted with them for good. |
