Need Some Feedback

Hey all

I need some feedback on this site. Below is some of the things that needed changing from the first version. I've completly revamped it. Also, there's one issue in IE6 but otherwise everything works.

Quote:
That's essentially you're largest problem - you said it perfectly. The content needs to be better before other people will start looking at it, not the other way around.

Here's a few of my ideas…

* New logo (two blocks with letters in them is not terribly creative; especially because the text below it doesn't smoothly fit in). New font, also.
* New colors (sorry, they just don't work for me)
* Center the “Submit Site” text vertically in the bar it's on…
* Have a submission form, not an email address. That looks bad. Find one popular network/gallery that does this.
* The nav is about as simple as it gets. It's just a `li` in a block? Try designing it a bit more… maybe rounded corners, a gradient, etc…
* You left all the components of a default WP sidebar in there… “Meta”? Would you have included that if you had made the site without WordPress? How 'bout the names of the other headers?
* Everything below the “Submit Site” bar seems very undesigned. All you did was apply colors to the default theme, it seems.
* The “next page” link on the bottom doesn't have spacing below it and the footer.

Hopefully you'll take this as constructive criticism, and improve.

Site Is Here
Feedback would be appreciated. Thanks,

Theros

Hi. I checked out your site, and i think it looks really clean and nice.

If there's anything i have to point out it would be the link in the loginbar changing to pitch black on rollover. Also the page seems to change width when i press the about\blogs\submit buttons. (i use firefox 1.5)

Small details anyways. Site looks great imo

I agree with Krusty. Id make a few other small design changes. The alignment of the nav bar is all over the place. Theres an uncomfertable void to the left of the logo, and the navigation text doesnt sit well.

Id put the logo to the left on the red bar, then move the nav text onto the grey bar, aligned left again and login next to the nav.

Other than that, its nice.

Er, I've changed a couple of things. I don't get quite what your saying though... Maybe a short easy screenshot with arrows would get your point across better?

Well. If you alternate between the "Home" section, and the other sections, you can see how the logo moves left\right about 5-10 pixels. Atleast on my firefox.

You still need to address the first statement about your logo. It is terribly boring and plain. Sticks out like a sore thumb mate.

Without being offensive but constructive, it's something that my dead rabbit could do mate.

I know that is harsh mate but check out cssmania or cssbeauty and look at how other sites have complimented the logos created. or even do a search for logo on google and see what ideas you come up with.

Apart from that, it's a seen before design (style) but very nice and quite well executed in my opinion.

Yeah.. my logos are horrible.... I'm planning on coming up with some new designs for it, but in the meantime I think the site is otherwise done... If there's anything I missed since I did the whole thing by scratch, no editing like K2 for instance, just tell me...

Then run with it as it is. Personally I'd redo the log before putting it out there but that is just me. The rest of the site is cool. Just the logo mate.
