puts head above parapet...

currently doing this site - see what you think.

i need to nudge a couple of things to line up but overall im quite pleased - the customer is happy with it as well as this was his old site and its a step up from that so he's pleased.

http://www.steharg.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/test/

anyway... fire away.

wowsa yes defo a step in the right direction from the old site, when was that site designed?

Displays same in both IE and FF here, nice simple design and straight to the point, perhaps maybe changing pics depending on location would be good, really depends what the customer wants tho.

Overall I'd say nice clean design and coding.

Solid work. The gradient background doesn't quite fade to white and the images could be better. It might be an idea to Photoshop out the industrial park backgrounds in favour of something a bit more appealing.

thanks for the comments.

i will be changing the 2 pictures for each page

jase: the images they have given me are mostly crap taken with dodgy digital cameras over the last couple of years - also they're not paying me enough to photoshop the backgrounds!

Not bad mate, solid stuff. Definitely a huge improvement on the old 'site'. I'd consider changing the images on the left hand side, if only for the sake of your own portfolio.

put the logo to the left and put something like the date or something to balance it on the right.
Not bad, simple but does the job

right then... ive put the content on the pages now....see what you think.

The content ive 'sourced' from other places as the customer basically didnt give me any.. apart from pictures for the gallery.

i know for a fact that he is going to ask for music to be on there as he likes http://www.dashfixer.com/ which is one of his competitors. he is also going to ask for a 'animated' (gif probably) phone number on every page which i think is very small time and unnecessary and will detract from the site (the contact button is there for a reason) .... if i make an animated gif i give you all permission to shoot me on sight... actually.. i give you all permission to carve my heart out with a rusty spoon!!

critique is obviously more than welcome

looks alright but the gradient background is cack, just stops before it reaches white which isn't appealing, other than that yeh looks fine.

haha sorry mate...

i mis-read your original point as i thought you were saying the gradient colour was off white instead of white, not that it just stops short.

haha, fair doos.... there are a few genuine reasons for altering a mileage, just so long as you arent knocking mileage off ex company cars so they sell for more? which no one ever does when they have the ability to.
