New site layout

I've got a new site to do, and i've done a design that im going to show to the client. The main area won't be as heavily crowded in content as it is...it's just to indicate the main area.

I'm also thinking of changing the header image...just waiting on the photographer with the photos.

p.s just in case...im just using tables for the preview, css for the real thing.

A few tips on designing websites,
make all font in the content area without anti-aliasing, this way your design will look the same as the final product.
The way you have it right now it will never look exactly the same once you start using text for the content area (unless of course it is going to be an image, but I hope you know better).

The content text, shouldn't be green, there too much green there already plus it makes it harder to read. Add some line-height for the content text, so itis more spaced out and again easier to read.

Loose the logo in the background, it is an over kill. I also suggest you lose the green back ground in the heading one, and make the text green. Increase the font size for th "recent property" and left align it, not right.

The header needs work, but since you will be using a different image then I won't comment on that, except that the logo in there is way too big.

Cheers.

also the width of the main colun could be 20 px shorter, to add some breathing space to the entire composition. Good job for a non-designer.

looking good, make sure you have the same number of pixels in the border, on the left and right. Currently the border on the right in the header section looks thicker than the one in the content section..just move the thumbnails and the underline of 'recent property' to the left a bit.

Also for the content font dont use Helvetica, I think that is what you are using..it doesn't look good. Stick with Arial or Verdana.

I'd remove the reflection under "international". looks terrible mate.

also increase line-height and letter-spacing in the main <p>
