hey guys, just discovered this forum & i can't believe i have never come across it before. i'm really looking forward to getting stuck into some conversations about all levels of design stuff. man have i had some unanswered questions in the past ... this place should prove to be seriously worthwhile. in the meantime, here's a couple of links i hope you all dig. the first is a link to my new company website : http://www.versionindustries.com & the second, to our first ever company showreel : http://www.versionindustries.com/showreel let me know what you think. cheers ! I like sites like that...stuff I can explore it doesn't particularly show off your work to its best though, the thumbs seem like a bit of an after thought. I'd possibly think about darkening the overlay too to make it easier to read the brief. it's always useful to have skeletor as part of the team. welcome to dt, dude. That's fuckin' ingenious, if I understand it correctly. It's a Swiss fuckin' watch.

yeah darkening the overlays is definitely worth thinking about especially on firefox mac - the antialiasing almost obliterates the text looks great on safari of course, but hey & yeah - i hear you on the thumbs - i mean they could be bigger but then we do link to the site & i don't want things to get too crowded in 800x600 if people are still using that resolution to view it. still they could do with being clickable for larger versions of the site if people don't want to click the link. point taken for sure. & hehe, yeah, skeletors an invaluable team member cheers, looking forward to hanging out with you guys. |

haha, yeah i'm not sure i have a copy of them online any more or even on my machine. but basically they were our first cards & all we had on them was our logo on the front & just an email address on the back. each card being personalized so that it was our email on the back alone. obviously the idea then was that our website address could be gleaned from the email & since we were web designers, email was easily the best intial way to get in touch with us. our cards have evolved radically since then & are now these full colour affairs, but that email he wrote to his dad i think still clearly states our M.O. when it comes to the way we like to do things. |
