Business Card

I just finished up this business card. What do you guys think? Anything that I should change or just doesn't fit? Thanks a lot.

Solid white type with no stroke might look nice. Maybe to clean it up remove "/web" from your title.

OK... a little advice
Why do you have a big sun with round arms sat on the grass in your card design?
Why do you have soooo many colours?
Why did you choose those typefaces?
How where you gonna get it printed?

Is the smily face yer logo? The design looks like it is for kids, the stroked font very bad.

Wow some of you guys are seriously a bunch a SCHMUCKS! Learn to critique positively for crying out loud! Instead of saying negative garbage comments why not give the guy some positive feedback that will actually HELP him?

Let's see. What are some ways in which he can improve on his design? First and foremost, the sun could use a little more stylizing, it's pretty cool looking now but you can take it step further even by simply tilting it a bit and adding a thicker stroke.

The typeface, I'd prob go with a Sans Serif, maybe heavy and condensed (Zurich would be nice). Vary your point sizes for the contact info from the name/title so that it's easier to read. I can see this with 10pt. for the name/title typeface and 8pt. for the contact info.

All in all you need to decide who your target market is. If you want it to be for children's sites, you hit the nail on the head but if you're looking for more corporate work, I don't think that this card will serve you well.

Sorry but telling someone "terrible mate" is NOT going to help him.

Detox - you have to learn to chill out mate or take you whining elsewhere. The showcase here is great.

Your perceived negativity (honesty) in the sites crits here isn't as bad as you think. In fact it's exactly why I post my own projects for C&C - I get instinctive responses that can be very useful. (+your defensive posts are adding noise to the OP)

I was told that my design for a flyer was 'fucking woeful' when I joined a few years ago - I got shirty - tried to defend a bad design... then I realised that they were right.

The best way to give crit to the inexperienced is to be brutally honest. It works and will make you work harder. Being sappy and trying to wade around the problem does not help in the long run. Tact delays the inevitable trip to the waste bin.

This is a very naive design - I'd keeping working at your skills and start fresh.

Again, telling someone that their work sucks is not a good way in my experience to help someone develop as a designer.

Actually I said it was naive.

Why don't you find a little niche and park your self in it.

Ok, seriously stop getting so defensive at comments that weren't even directed at you. Go through and read this entire thread b/c obviously you've missed a few things.

Apologies, poppinphresh for taking over your thread. It's late and I am over disagreeing with Detox.
