I have a hard time being constructive with this. It looks really amateurish and childish. The colors are garish and offensive to look at. Smiley faces don't make me thing "This is an educated and talented graphic designer." - they make me think "This is a 15 year old kid who got his hands on a copy of Photoshop." I think you need to start from scratch. And go to school or at least read a few design books. |

its ok mate.... everyone starts somewhere... just take a look at what luke said and pick up some books and best of all keep your eyes open! Learn print process, an understanding of materials, colour theory, typography, grids and you will be set!... The thing is software should be the last thing a designer learns.... |

poppinphresh: I'm not realling feeling it. The smily looks pretty lame and I think the overall composition of the card is poor. The choice of text is too. As everyone else said, it's just a bad buisness card overall. Keep working, and remember to look back at your completed work from different prespectives. Well that's all I have to say on it I guess. People may not like Detox, but atleast he doesn't give one-word replies like "sodding crap" or an emoticon of a thumb down. Yes, some people can post work that's obviously bad. You may know WHY it's bad, because it'll be bluntly amateur work. Still means you gotta tell the person why. edit: Haha, so the current insult fad is bashing the client the designer worked for? I dunno how stuff is in the UK, but in Canada/US you see those Alienware ads in every mag (and some bus stops). Who wouldn't want to do one for them? The rigs themselves are tight...so whoever said "wank/overpriced products" was probably using an MDG machine with an Alienware sticker placed on it by someone from the IT department.
