Good idea. There is actually a preloader at work but I think it takes as long to load as the images do. I'll have a think.

The font's Rockwell. Possibly bold IIRC.

Must be bold. I use Rockwell also and it doesn't look so...bold.

Though I am liking the bold look, so I may have to switch.
