Apple banner - critique welcome

Just wanted to get some feedback on a banner I just finished:

http://www.tomvining.co.uk/designs/apple_bestival.htm

Rollover the scene to interact.

Any comments always appreciated!

its not your laptop - some of the images are low res to keep the file size down, as theres quite alot on it for a banner

When you try to click the Download Now link the "area" that it is in reduces back to the inactive state to quickly to allow you to click. Does that make sense - ie in the stage when you rollover it reveals the bands on the yellow background graphic - move the cursor to try and click "Download Now" and the graphic reduces back.

Also, Download Now really doesn't tell you what you are downloading

2 cents

yeh, fair comments. I only made the actual tent areas rollover, rather than the yellow popups so the user can go to the tents behind without completely rolling off and on again, and instead just click the tent.... but I guess the wording they gave me of 'Click to download' misleads alittle.

I believe it'll be bestival playlists of the specific artists that will be downloads, but I'm not sure - could be clearer, so cheers I'll suggest that.

I like it, good ideas. The bounces look like there are to many going up and down but that just me. Nice job!

Love it, a couple of the items look more out of place than others (the fire and one of the tents with some legs sticking out) but its still fantastic!

Looks nice.

When you rollout just hide it all, rather than making people wait for all that animation.

Oh, and when is it?

I like it by itself as an interactive advertisement.

But when I see that on a website pop out and cover up the rest of the page, I'll curse your name. I hate those things.

yep, see what you mean. took ages to source tents etc that looked right together, but I guess those bits could be improved.

Totally agree, I hate them too! Client request, so not much room for negotiation there unfortunately.

Shit, good point ... missed that slightly important detail. It's the 8th, 9th and 10th September if ya interested though.

I know that this is a few weeks old but i was thinking the other day about flash design and im just wondering in this case how is the whitespace going to be transparent with the swf?

I mean can flash support transparent swfs and intergrate into the web?

Curious,

like it except for the 'rollover tents to explore...' pink line it doesn't seem to sit nice.
