Critique appreciated!

I'm looking for some constructive critism on the following design:

The name "Spicy Pixel" is really just a concept at the moment and i'll hopefully think up something a little more imaginative for the actual site, but for now i'm just looking for feedback on whats good and whats not.

Appreciate any opinions

Not bad. But for a design company site, use it as an oppurtunity to show potential clients what you could do for them.

Do you think that this is the style/look that your clients would be interested in?

I say this because it comes off looking a little too personal and "blog-ish" and not enough like a corporate/business site.

I just wouldn't want a company/business to steer away thinking that they'd end up with an unprofessional looking site.

I think the quality of your work is not really the issue, it's the style.

but what do i know, i've yet to officially try freelance...

I didn't really think of it like that. I was planning on letting the portfolio speak for it's self. If i could get a few varying styles in there i'd be alright. Another thing though, living in the depths of Cornwall UK there are a lot of small arty/creative firms near me that my work would probably appeal to more and at this point in time this is the type of client i'm aiming at. That is until i can build up a decent portfolio.

Just a thought, would those firms not already have designers?

Not web designers. It's all very well having a designer that can produce professional pieces with physical materials but if they can't translate it into digital graphics and a website (and most cannot) that's where i come in.

Alright

Not too shabby.

Good point about it being very bloggish.

The logo doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the site for me, though.

Love red - wouldn't mind seeing a bit more of it instead of that pinstripe pattern in the header, and it might make the logo seem a bit more relevant. Love the body of the site, including fonts in the header.

Hate yellows, though, so I'm biased.
