Are you a programmer? Might be good to take your own ethos and put it to good work.

I am not saying your design is without hope - but it lacks clarity, definition and balance. Work to a grid.

allowing job postings with this in isnt going to win me over.

edit:

Just noticed the guy who posted it, his personal website...First paragraph:

I make websites. And then, I try to make money from them. It's like a business.

Uuh..if you're talking about the job posting that says "no pay", no, I didn't post that. Another user did.

But if you are talking about this forum thread/posting, yes I'm the same person that wrote "I make websites. And then, I try to make money from them. It's like a business.". Is that a crime? =)

you make a site - then try to make money from them? Interesting business model

The main porblem is that is already turning into a place where people try to get work for free. You're not going to entice any professionals to your site if they are confronted with those kinds of posts

Yes, I agree. I did set up the price filter, but maybe there should be a "No free jobs" requirement? What do you people think?

Not no free jobs, maybe make the sections more decisisive, only show paid on the main page, links in the navigation to full paid listings and full non paid listings, put limits on no pay, and just all around try and discourage them.

lol..if they are too cheap to pay someone that's going to work for them, they're not gonna be paying me

But I like Ryan's idea. I'm gonna work on categorizing the listings more. No non-paid listings on the front page, a browse mode, etc. Thanks guys.

Logo update.
How do these look, as opposed to the current logo? Which one is better? Should I replace the other one?

What's your opinion? Thanks!

Second one - definitely.

Not terribly inventive or clever, but it's nicer.

Ok, I'll number them to avoid confusion
0 - Original/Current one
1 - New one with underlines
2 - New one with out underlines

Ok, I spent all of today working on a new template for the site. Please tell me what you think! Do you think it's better than the current one? It's here: http://kasrak.com/etc/pmd_newtemplate/index.html

I'd say it's a significant improvement, great job! Looks much cleaner and easier to use. Adding the banner was a good idea, it adds that professional touch. Keep up the good work, this site has potential.

Alright!! Thanks!
I'm gonna work on 3 new features: categories, search only friends' listings, and user feedback.
Any other suggestions?
