Couple of new designs

I got asked to re-design the homepage of www.m-chat.net. Two different designs are below, which one do you like best, comments etc?

number 1 for me definitely although the placing of the logo makes the design feel lop-sided (right-side heavy)

the top nav bar should for me end at the same point as the center grad in the body section and then the logo should move more centrally to the left.

But nice all the same

go with the 2nd for me. The first is good but its too reminiscent of apple design, skype , etc.

I like the 2nd because the dark contrasting gradients are very sexy and enforce a sense of precision and quality. Only thing i would consider is a photo that is directly relevent to the site. The one you have now is just too stockish for me and i allmost forget its there. A nice image with some pull would imediately grab your users attention.

Other then that wicked site. Clean and easy. Good job

Both very nice but I'd prefer the and design. It was much easier to read at first glance and better on the eye. The first design made my want to turn down the contrast on my screen a bit.

Nr.2, definately.
The first one doesn't say mobile chat to me, it says web hosting and is very boring/bland.

But the second one has nice contrast and a strong design. I like it.

I like the second one. The first one is too plain, it lacks character.

Tbh, I'm not really keen on either of them. In my opinion I think the current design of the site is nicer than the ones you've posted.

If I had to choose one of those designs, I'd probably go with the first one.

i dont really see how you have done anything to change the old design for the better. i mean, everything is layed out exactly the same on your layout ideas as the current version. the buttons are even exactly the same. try a more unique approach.

I personally dont like left-aligned websites... so at that i would pick #1, but if #2 was centered...definitely #2
