I'd lose all the centered text and left align it. The curvy loopy things seem quite poorly constructed - the curves aren't smooth, though it looks like they're meant to. That cat banner is huge, as well as the cat icons. Also, looks like a tombstone and the graphics overpower the content. I don't see much design at all - just some graphics with text plugged in - and lots of pointless decoration. |

Nothing...if you're not trying to sell yourself...they just remind me of those kitschy gargoyles and horror movie toys and shit that attract kids and the generally immature (goth kids and their ilk). Smacks of immaturity. |

Looks great. One thing that struck me though was the mixing of styles from the big gothic cat to the Japanese style cats in the row. Clash a bit?? Are you the cat that got the Kremianski? |

Thanks for the comments guys. Quote:
Yeah. Trying to get through the message that I'm a graphic designer. :P datahound: Might consider changing that...thanks. (might ditch the huge Catfolio logo and replace with somethng smaller) The giant cat illustration is supposed to be there in your face to grab you by the balls, even if it makes you go "WTF?". Grown kinda tired of the traditional logos being compact and placed top left or something. Lef alligning text is a good ide also, thanks again. (P.S Pgo is just trying to get back at me for the time I said his design was too dull. |

What's going on? This is a bizzare "design". I wouldn't know where to start...centred AND left justified type and navigation? Colours? What are you doing with those fonts? Whats with the cats? I would change the name megaton cat as well. Not doing you any favours. |

Also agree with d3. Increase the leading all around, sort out the alignment issues. Last edited by pgo : 03-07-2006 at 16:57. |

And then you go and insult me again to show how you weren't insulting me. Wow. Quote:

The day I learned that white space was ok was such a good day. I hope extend this realization to you. I'm kind of liking the idea with the cats either 'as' or 'along with' your navigation system. And if you have a porfolio, and you're trying to get across that you're a graphic designer, make a dead simple web site and spend more time making sure that THOSE stand out and that the people viewing your "graphic designs" can navigate them easily. |

I agree with datahound, the first thing that strikes me is the conflict of styles the mix of cutesy cats and gothic tombstone background seems an ood choice. The typography, particularly of the main header and the navs also seem disparate. I reckon simplify it and focus on a single theme.. |

you have alot of horizontal movement and you need some verticle... it looks like a lasagne! think about intergration... to make a whole.... you need to tell the reader where to go in terms of priority and hierachy! |
